I woke up, in my own grave, suddenly entombed
I felt so helpless knowing there was nothing I could do
My hands were ripped apart to bits and bloody shreds
Just clawing at the wooden box that meant my certain death
I tasted the wicked brew of dirt and my own tears
This was the manifestation of my darkest fears
I laid my head back, accepting where I was
I knew if I was gonna live I’d need help from above
I will make you one with the earth that gave you life
Struggle as you will to resist, but vengeance is mine tonight
With this shovel in my hand I pile dirt, rust, rock and steel
Twelve feet over you ensures it’s me to whom you kneel
I attempted to adjust my eyes and break this frozen glare
I pleaded to my maker as I struggled to catch air
Why me? I’m so young, my life has just begun
So many things to do in this world that I’ve never done
Frantic, I cracked the wood and pushed away the sand
I will not let myself be snuffed out by stranger’s hand
Relentless, climbing towards a chance to live my life
At last my fight is almost over crawling towards the light

A collection of deeply rewarding slow-burn doom tracks with sustained grandeur. "Doom" is definitely the operative word when describing Concilium's No Sanctuary because that sense is palpable throughout this release. I would love to see them live. gagneaux
